Jennifer managed the successful auction of the preeminent collection of American documents, including the Constitution of the United States, which sold for a world record price of $41 million. Jennifer’s experience in negotiating terms at auctions has resulted in successful sales of collections ranging from $100,000 to $41 million. Jennifer has negotiated private sales of artworks outside the auction market, including important oils by Marc Chagall, Frank Stella, and others. Should an online sale be a consideration, Jennifer has her own auction house on the LiveAuctioneers platform, where she successfully manages sales as varied as
Israeli Art and French and Continental furniture.
Biography
Jennifer V. Roth founded her company, JVR Art Advisory LLC, in 2020. Prior to that, she was a Senior Vice President at Sotheby’s, specializing in Fine Arts from Old Masters to Contemporary. In addition to running the Fine Arts mid-season sales department, she headed the Israeli Art and Judaica sales in New York and served as a frequent auctioneer.

From 2015 to 2019, she joined the Business Development Department as a Senior International Specialist, assisting high-level clients in curating their art collections. Jennifer conducted many appraisals during her over 35 years at Sotheby’s, including major single-owner collections.

Jennifer received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and a Master's from Columbia University, New York.
